Harold Folley joined Legal Aid Justice Center (LAJC) as an organizer in January 2018. He is the civil rights and racial justice organizer with an emphasis on police accountability. He has been working with the People’s Coalition to make law enforcement more accountable and transparent. Folley has been organizing for 15 years in Virginia and the Charlottesville area and has worked on federal, state, and local issues, including Social Security and tax reform, civil rights, living wages, health care, and “Ban the Box” efforts to eliminate discrimination based on a past arrest. In all of these efforts, Folley works to encourage people to become more aware of what’s going on in the world and in their neighborhoods.
